Renal renin release is affected by several systemic and intrarenal factors. Systemic factors
include sympathetic nerves, circulating angiotensin II, blood pressure and salt balance of the
organism. Intrarenal factors involved are nitric oxide and the prostaglandins, which stimulate
renin secretion.
